In recent years the Islamic regime in Iran, and in particular the incumbent president, have cautiously opened a window to the West.
Everyone is aware that this country possesses a wealth of natural stone. Not only the famous and special Travertin Rouge of Iran, but a particularly large variety of limestones.
So last August, Herwig Callewier, managing director of Beltrami, travelled to Iran to investigate.
A number of quarries and companies were visited with the first result of the trip being the addition of GIALLO VITTORIO to our range. This dark yellow limestone, with fossils and, here and there, nuances of bordeaux-red, provides us with an extremely suitable alternative to the old, yellow marbles from Italy, that at the moment mainly appear as rustic tiles - due to the shortage of good blocks.
Our presentation at BATIBOUW received a great deal of positive comment. Available from stock in strips of 30/1.5 cm and tiles of 40/40/1.5 cm, honed. Also skirtings of 7/1.5 cm or 40/7/1.5 cm and slabs of 2 or 3 cm, honed.
