Hebron gold: A building tradition for more than 2500 Years!

The temple of Jerusalem (518 BC) was constructed from limestone from the region around Hebron. For centuries there has been a tradition of using natural stone in Jerusalem; an old custom is that all buildings must be built or faced in limestone. This results in a concentration of natural stone companies around Hebron and Bethlehem. The creation of the independent 'Union of Palestine Stone and Marble Manufacturers' in 1996, heralded the start of a globalisation programme for 'Jerusalem stone'. The Holy Land as a development area and Jerusalem as a living example of how it is used, give this limestone a special place in the natural stone market. BELTRAMI cannot ignore this 'new' classic. From the various types we have chosen HEBRON GOLD, a gold-coloured and relatively smooth limestone with a really exclusive character : here and there small fossils are present.

The quarry near Hebron guarantees only a limited quantity of our selected product. During the production, small open veins and cavities are filled with polyester and are then honed. In commonwith most limestone, we advise that HEBRON GOLD should be laid on a drysurface using a suitable adhesive. BELTRAMI offers you HEBRON GOLD in tilesof 40/40/1.5cm and 50/50/2cm, honed, and skirtings of 40 or 50/7/1.5cm, honed. Slabs of 2 and 3cm thickness, honed, are also available.
