Laying tip

We recommend leaving the grouting as long as possible - ideally for fourteen days. In this way the moisture from the laying process can evaporate via the open space, instead of through the tile. This will greatly reduce the risk of discoloration and/or the formation of mould. The grouting width usually measures 2 to 3 mm. For slate, quartzite, sandstone as well as old-fashioned limestone (including old-fashioned Roman types) and exterior flooring, the grout width should be larger (from 6 to 10 mm). The grouting material in both cases is the special BELTRAMI marble grout (standard colours: white, beige, and grey). This is suitable for both interior and exterior use. Materials with a rough finish or naturally rough surface should be grouted using a grouting tool. Always keep the tiles clean during grouting to avoid their becoming covered with a film of cement.
