From Ostend to Sapporo : PERLATO OLYMPO !!! |
|||
The planning and execution for tiling a museum is not something one does every day. Concerning floor finishing, specific requirements were laid down regarding durability and ease of maintenance, as well as for colour and style. A marble that clearly fulfils all of these criteria is PERLATO OLYMPO. This is demonstrated by two recently completed projects: The VENETIAN GALLERIES in OSTEND: these buildings, that adjoin the royal villa, date from around the turn of the century and were recently refurbished as multi-functional exhibition rooms, following the plan of Henri Maquet. At the moment there is a exhibition concerning the turbulent life of James Ensor, the well-known Flemish expressionist (1860-1949). The tiles, finished size 40 x 40 x 1.5 cm, in Perlato Olympo were combined with motifs in Rojo Alicante tiles. On the other side of the world, BELTRAMI supplied the flooring for the MEISSEN PORCELAIN MUSEUM in SAPPORO, JAPAN. The interior designers Verana, from Kortrijk chose tiles of 60 x 60 x 2 cm, in Perlato Olympo, with Vert Olympia as a decorative element. Perlato Olympo can be delivered from stock in finished tile size 40 x 40 x 1.5 cm, random lengths of 30 x 1.5 cm, polished wall-tiles of 30.5 x 30.5 x 1 cm, skirting of 8 x 1 cm and 40 x 8 x 1 cm (polished), slabs of 2 and 3 cm honed and polished. Special sizes are available on request.
