What can we wish you for 2002 ? This question will arise repeatedly during the coming weeks. The most common answer will most probably still be 'good health - and the rest will take care of itself?' Undoubtedly, we all hope that 2002 will be less turbulent than the previous year. In particular the terrorist attacks in the United States will remain with us as an image of 2001. The implications for our own (building) world are not yet fully known, but will certainly continue to be felt for several months.
At BELTRAMI also, 2001 was a year with its ups and downs. Our first participation in the BATIBOUW exhibition did not turn out to be a great success and the introduction of the new software proved to be very problematic. On the positive side, however, we can point to the launch of BELTRALINE, our range of thin, calibrated natural stone tiles: it appeared to be right on target - numerous clients and architects used this innovation to introduce natural stone into even more areas. Another positive point from 2001 was the expansion of our own transport department which led to an improved and faster service.
In 2002 we intend to continue the improvement in our services and to introduce more innovations:
? There will therefore be more investment in the expansion of our services; you can already - on request and at little extra cost - receive deliveries via a small 'city truck'.
? Our new software will provide our regular clients with the on-line opportunity to consult our stock, to place orders and to follow-up on orders in hand.
? The showroom will be expanded and renovated: more than 200 m? of extra space for new natural stone types and applications. The opening is planned for the end of 2002 or the beginning of 2003.
Our new 2002 range will be featured in the next newsletter. We shall also be exhibiting our new products at the trade fairs in London (March 2002) and Li?ge (April 2002).
