What about the colour?
A warm colour radiates tranquility. In our busy times people like to come home to a house that offers them security and cosiness. Not only with warm colours, but also with warm sensing tiles you can create this atmosphere. Dark colours make smaller, light colours enlarge. A light colour next to a gloomy colour makes the last one seem even gloomier. By combining different colours (or formats) you create a playful atmosphere.

The hall
In a long hall avoid putting joints parallel with the walls, because this gives the impression of a motorway. It is better to install the floor at right angles to the walls, this makes the hall look wider.

The living room
Floors with contrasting colours (chequers board) reduce the space visually.
Uniform floors, light colours enlarge the space visually.
A square room stands out well with square tiles. But square tiles also do justice to rectangular spaces.
If you choose to use rectangular tiles or tiles with a set width and random lengths, they have to be installed in a manner that the long joints are at right angles to the viewing direction when you are standing at the doorway. If you are installing rectangular tiles or tiles with a set width and random lengths in every room it’s impossible to have a right angle view from every doorway. In that case the largest room (in most cases the living room) is used as the point of departure.

A golden rule: small rooms support only small tiles. Larger rooms look prettier with large tiles. From 60 m² on we recommend formats 50 x 50 cm and 60 x 60 cm. If small and large rooms are next to each other, it is best to chose the format you would use for the largest space. This creates more space in the total concept of the house.

The bathroom
Also in bathrooms warm colours are considered to be the most suited, although in pastel shades. An ornamental element makes the entity more playful. For the past few years it’s trendy to cover the floor, the wall and the bath itself with natural stone sawn out of big slabs. This way of working guarantees top class and by doing so you reduce the number of joints (that can become dirty) to a minimum.

The shower
This is one of the most delicate places of a house for a tiler. If the installation of the material, the grouting or the finishing in general is not done properly, problems will occur. The natural stone wall tiling will come off or will react with the moist, walls and ceilings will become damp, … So let the job be done by a craftsman! Also in this case we often opt for cut-to-size.

Stairs
The installation of a stair is no easy job. Most stairs are first moulded in concrete later to be covered with natural stone. Rarely this concrete structure has all similar sized stairs. You often have a lot of fitting to do. To have a nice covered stair it is best to call for a professional.
