BELTRAMI was founded in 1986 by Herwig Callewier who understood as a Belgian agent for the German Jura limestone producer STIEGLER, that customers needed a reliable wholesaler in their region in order to realise an efficient service with rigidly enforced quality control and a large stock holding.
In 1989 Stefaan Callewier, Herwig’s brother, was introduced as a managing partner in the company. His contribution soon made Beltrami’s production facilities grow.

At the beginning of the nineties Beltrami started to make a name for itself for discovering new products and finishes in natural stone: as one of the first in Europe, Beltrami began the direct import of Chinese granites and basalts e.g. PEPPERINO DARK, TWILIGHT and SUNRISE. Later followed the ORIENTAL BASALT (1999), JININ STONE and MOORS GREEN (2002). Huge amounts of natural stone were also imported directly from India, Vietnam (e.g. ASIAN BLUE) and Brazil (e.g. BLACK SLATE)

Due to significant investment in new depots and machines, Beltrami was able in 1997 to establish and build on its position as an authoritative natural stone wholesaler and by founding its own logistics company in 2000, Beltrami has improved customer service greatly.

BELTRAMI UK was founded when Herwig Callewier opened in 2000 a sales office in London, UK. Today, Beltrami UK is a full sister company with its depot and office located in Dudley, West Midlands.
With a large stock holding of slab material, fleet of vehicles and 2 sales managers on the road, the UK arm of Beltrami is ready to service the needs of its customers efficiently and successfully.

In 2003 BELTRAMI POLSKA started with offices and stock located in Warszawa. Furthermore BELTRAMI also has a sales office in The Netherlands and has recently opened one in Italy.

Each year again, Beltrami profiles itself as an innovator in its sector either by the introduction of new natural stone materials or by adding new finishes or formats. Some exclusive innovative items being the BELTRALINE tiles (thin, calibrated tiles to stick on your existing floor or for wall tiling) and BELTRALINEA strips for wall cladding and floor covering.

During 20 years Beltrami has expanded to become a European wholesaler with an excellent reputation regarding its range, quality and service. An enthusiastic team of devoted employees are constantly ready to realise these goals for our customers.
